摘要 (Abstract) :
Recently, the RP-nickelates are discovered to superconduct under pressure in the bulk and under ambient pressure in thin films on suitable substrates, providing a new family of high temperature superconductors. In this talk, we discuss the microscopic pairing mechanism and pairing symmetry in such novel superconductors, and draw connection to the earlier cuprate and iron-based high temperature superconductors. After a brief review of the experimental progress, we discuss the normal state band structure with multiple Fermi pockets, derived from the leading Eg orbitals (dz2 and dx2-y2) and multiple layers. Next, we discuss the effects of correlations arising from the local bare interactions, in the framework of the unbiased functional renormalization group, the variational quantum Monte Carlo, and related theories. We discuss the transition temperature versus increasing pressure in the bulk, and the effect of chemical pressure or strain in thin films, leading us to the conclusion that the superconductivity in RP-nickelates are best described in the itinerant picture, rather than the local moment picture. Perspectives are also made on pathway toward higher transition temperature.
